What ecosystem means here

A realm has residents. Not customers.

On most platforms, "ecosystem" is a marketing word for the customer list. On the realm, it is an architectural one. Operators secure the substrate. Builders ship inside it. Partners shape its institutional surfaces.

Beneath all three sit residents — the individuals who hold a Sigil, grant and revoke consent, hire agents, and carry one identity across every system on the realm. Operators, builders, and partners are how the realm runs. Residents are who it runs for.

What follows is forward-looking by design. Xyress is in active build; the ecosystem around it is forming alongside the substrate, not after it.

We do not list specific companies, validators, or partners on this page. When the time is right to publish that, the page will say so. Until then, the architecture is what's worth describing — because the architecture determines what the ecosystem can become.

Operators

Run the realm

Operators secure the substrate. They run validators, produce blocks, attest to state, and carry the cryptographic guarantees the rest of the platform depends on. Without operators, the realm is a specification. With them, it is an actual place.

Operate the consensus and execution machinery. Stake into the substrate. Contribute to finality.

Hold institutional Sigils

Operators are non-human callers on Xyress. Every node is a Sigil-bound participant with attributable behavior.

Anchor the trust chain

By Phase 3, operators participate in the AI-augmented trust chain — but only within the cryptographic and governance constraints described in Technology.

Earn from running

Validator economics are designed so operators are paid for the actual work — block production, attestation, availability — without skewing toward extractive behavior.

Public testnet validators come online during Phase 1 build. The first operator cohort is selected by invitation. Mainnet operator onboarding follows substrate stabilization.

Builders

Build on the realm

Builders ship systems on top of Xyress. The work is qualitatively different from deploying to a generic chain — composition replaces integration, identity is given rather than designed, and the surface a builder works against is the realm itself, not a stack of unrelated services.

Compose, don't integrate

Builders combine components in a single declarative call rather than gluing nine services together. The integration is the platform's job.

Inherit identity, proof, accountability

Every system built on Xyress gets Sigil-bound users, Witness-attested transactions, and Vigil-monitored behavior by default. The architecture you'd otherwise have to design is the substrate.

Choose your deployment mode

Public chain for fastest onramp, managed enclaves for data isolation, federated chains for consortia, bridged proofs for legacy systems. Your shape, not ours.

Keep your economics

Charter mints the tokens; you design the economic model. Commons routes the access; you set the policy. The realm provides primitives, not a marketplace tax.

Partners

Shape the realm

Partners are institutions, ecosystems, regulators, and sovereign entities whose engagement shapes how the realm meets the world. Not customers, not vendors. Bilateral relationships in which both sides remain themselves and a shared interface is what they negotiate.

Government entities are first-class actors in the realm. Where law touches the realm, it does so through identifiable, accountable interfaces — and those interfaces are co-designed.

The categories are distinct in what they do, and connected in how they relate. Operators secure the substrate that builders ship on; builders compose the components that operators run; partners shape the institutional surfaces that operators and builders meet through. Commons is the layer that makes those relationships explicit, programmable, and verifiable.

That is what "connected realm" means architecturally: three roles whose work is wired into the same system, not three customer segments who happen to use the same product. The ecosystem is not a list. It is a topology.
